BitMEX Volume Mapping Across All Datasets — Feb 14, 2025

The volume field on BitMEX datasets reflects number of contracts—not base-asset volume.

⚙️ Conversion Details

  • Customers must divide volume by underlyingToPositionMultiplier (from Reference endpoint) to calculate base-asset volume.

🧪 Example

Use includeOriginalReference=true to get relevant multiplier and apply conversion manually.

🔧 Current Behavior

No change to data pipeline. This formula must be applied externally to get accurate volumes.
